- Category:Fish that can change color
- etc.

Yes, I think it would be a good idea to break it down by phylum and/or class, e.g.: Arthropods (or perhaps insects, spiders) Fish Reptiles Cephalopods
and so on. In response to the comment below, I think it makes most sense for Cephalopods to be one category, rather than breaking it up further into subclasses. That way it's equivalent to the other categories (which are also class-level, despite the fact that a minority of species in those classes change color). Glyptodon (talk) 02:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Cephalopoda
I just added the entire Cephalopoda class to this category, but should it be more specific? It appears to me that within Cephalopoda, only the species within subclass Coleoidea, division Neocoleoidea are recognized as color-changing. The other living subclass comprises nautilus, which can't change color, and the other subclasses appear to be extinct. I'm not an expert on animal classification, so could someone with more expertise in this department provide clarification on this issue?
Or should we maybe just remove Cephalopoda and add Octopus, Squid, and Cuttlefish to the category?

Spring peepers?
I've pointed Talk:Spring Peeper here; just took Spring Peeper out of this category, even though "Like many other frogs, shade of color is affected by temperature."
Certain strains of Homo sapiens change color seasonally depending on history of UV exposure... I'm guessing this category is meant more for animals such as anoles or cuttlefish. Is there any guidance on where the line should be drawn? __Just plain Bill (talk) 02:23, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Reptiles
I'm pretty sure ALL lizards can change their color to some extent, not just chameleons and anoles. --TangoFett (talk) 03:02, 17 February 2011 (UTC) I second this, many species of gecko can certainly change colour, it's a commonly observed trait amongst keepers.
arctic hare?
Hey, just saw the arctic hare was under "animals that can change color" and i don't think that's right.
