EasyMandarin Chinese School (simplified Chinese: æ˜"在汉è¯; pinyin: Yì zà i hà nyÇ"), also known as "Easy Mandarin", is a language school located in Shanghai, China, offering expatriates, professionals and overseas students courses in Mandarin designed for communication in speaking, reading and writing Chinese (See Chinese as a foreign language). The school was founded in July 2006 by American entrepreneur Yis Weintraub and Chinese entrepreneur Liann Zhang.
Overview
EasyMandarin Chinese language courses are designed for juniors and adults. The school offers 4 types of Mandarin courses:
Intensive Small Group Course - Classes meet Mondays to Fridays for 3 hours per day during the daytime at the Jing'an Temple campus. New courses start monthly.
Evening Small Group Course - Classes meet two weekday evenings from 7pm to 9pm at the Jing'an Temple campus. New courses start monthly.
Private Course (individuals or groups) - Lessons are tailor made according to student learning requirements and are taught as per student preferred schedule and location (at the Jing'an Temple campus or any inner city Shanghai location).
IntensivePlus - Combined Course (Intensive Small Group Course + Private 1-on-1 lessons) - Students can choose to take one, two, or three hours per day or a few hours per week of Private 1-on-1 lessons in addition to the Intensive Small Group course.
Learners can choose specialized courses focusing on business Mandarin, HSK test preparation, Chinese characters, or survival Chinese.
EasyMandarin organizes social activities and trips for language learners attending the school. Activities have included: Chinese dumpling making parties, Mahjong lessons/competitions, and indoor skiing.
Location/transportation
EasyMandarin is located at 172 Yuyuan Road, Suite 1501 (near Wanhangdu Road) in Shanghai, China. The school is located next to Jing'an Temple metro station found on Shanghai Metro Line 2 and Shanghai Metro Line 7.
